RANCHO MIRAGE, California (March 16, 2015) — Tuyet Nguyen, 47, of Santa Ana was killed and two others were injured Sunday morning in a crash on Ramon Road, just east of Bob Hope Drive, according to a press release by the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
About 12:40 a.m., Rancho Mirage Police and paramedics responded to the collision where the vehicle left the road and crashed by the Union Pacific Railroad tracks, the Riverside County Fire Department said. Nguyen died of her injuries at the scene, but two others were hospitalized.
The vehicle had been transporting chlorine and muriatic acid which spilled during the crash and required a hazardous materials team to clean up the mess.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash and will issue a report with their findings.
