1 Killed in Collision at Lear Avenue and 2 Mile Road
Twentynine Palms, CA (May 14, 2022) – One person died following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Lear Avenue and 2 Mile Road.
The KESQ News reported a 20-year-old man was driving a Subaru wagon heading south on Lear Avenue. When the car approached the intersection at 2 Mile Road, the Subaru slammed into the back of a Caterpillar road grader. Preliminary investigation revealed the catastrophic incident took place while the Caterpillar was stopped in the southbound lane of Lear Avenue. Officials believed the Caterpillar was waiting to make a left turn onto Two Mile Road.
Deadly Traffic Accident in Twentynine Palms
Shortly after 10:38 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics found the driver of the Subaru unconscious. Despite life-saving measures performed by paramedics, the 20-year-old Indio resident sadly succumbed to his injuries and died. Authorities continue to withhold the name of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the driver of the road grader reportedly appeared unharmed after the collision.
Detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the deadly car at Lear Avenue and 2 Mile Road in Twentynine Palms.
