1 Killed in Twentynine Palms Crash on Highway 62 Near Sunview

TWENTYNINE PALMS, CA (March 11, 2023) – A crash killed at least one person on Highway 62 near Sunview Avenue in Twentynine Palms.

According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the tragic accident took place on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on March 11 at about 12:24 p.m.

The incident happened when two cars collided for an unknown reason in Twentynine Palms. The vehicles crashed on Highway 62 near the intersection with Sunview Avenue.

2 Cars Collide

CHP described the cars as a white pickup truck and a silver SUV. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the area of Joshua Tree.

Medical personnel confirmed that one individual died as a result of the collision. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, CHP forced Highway 62 to shut down near Sunview for a time following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Twentynine Palms crash is still under investigation.
