Two Big Rig Trucks Crash on 210 Freeway, Pennsylvania Avenue
Semi-Truck Overturns in Crash on I-210 Freeway Near La Crescenta
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (August 19, 2026) — A collision involving two big rig trucks, including one that overturned, happened Wednesday morning on the 210 Freeway at Pennsylvania Avenue in the La Crescenta-Montrose area of Los Angeles County.
The incident occurred on Aug. 19th at approximately 10:51 a.m. and resulted in major traffic disruption as the collision blocked multiple westbound lanes of the Foothill Freeway. According to the California Highway Patrol, debris was scattered across the roadway, and one of the big rigs caught fire, further complicating the scene. Emergency response teams, including the Glendale Police Department and County Fire Department, were promptly dispatched to assist in managing the situation and diverting traffic.
Reports indicate that the white tractor-trailer trcuk was carrying an oversized load and its trailer overturned, pinning a grey Mercedes underneath it. The situation led to a Sigalert being issued, with all westbound lanes initially closed, causing significant delays.
The extent of injuries remains unclear, but emergency medical personnel were on the scene to provide necessary assistance. At least one vehicle reportedly sustained major damage. The highway was partially reopened once the fire was controlled and the debris cleared.
Police are actively investigating the cause of the collision and request that any witnesses come forward to provide information that could aid in the investigation.
