PALM SPRINGS, California (Sept. 2, 2014) – Two passengers were killed and the driver critically injured early Sunday morning when a driver crashed into a pole at the intersection of Gene Autry Trail and Tachevah Drive, according to a report by the Palm Desert Patch.
The victims were identified as Osvaldo Ramirez, 21, of Cathedral City, and Tierra Reagins, 18, of Palm Springs. One of the victims was ejected and the other partially ejected as the vehicle hit the pole and split into two pieces.
The driver who lost control of the 2005 Cadillac CTS suffered major injuries in the 3:12 a.m. crash, but he was not identified. He was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating the collision, however, initial reports indicate the driver was likely speeding prior to the crash.
