Two Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on State Route 74 Near Hemet

HEMET, Calif. (June 17, 2026) — At least two people suffered minor injuries in a multi-vehicle traffic collision on eastbound State Route 74 near Truelson Avenue on Wednesday afternoon in the Hemet area, according to emergency 911 dispatch reports.
The crash was reported on June 17th at approximately 12:33 p.m. on SR-74 east of Truelson Avenue. Initial reports indicated a collision involving a box truck and multiple passenger vehicles. Dispatch logs described the incident as a two-vehicle crash that ultimately involved additional vehicles, including a Lexus, a Honda, and a Chevrolet box truck.
Good Samaritans stopped to assist and helped move damaged vehicles to the right shoulder, reducing the risk of secondary crashes in the traffic lanes.
Cal Fire personnel responded to the scene and reported that at least two patients sustained minor injuries. The California Highway Patrol later upgraded the incident from a collision with unknown injuries to a crash involving injuries.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the collision, which remains under investigation. No additional information about the injured parties is immediately available.
Motorists traveling through the area experienced delays while emergency crews worked to assist those involved and clear the roadway.
