Two Killed in Fountain Valley Crash at Bushard Street, Slater Avenue

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. (Nov. 4, 2026) — Two people were killed and a third was injured in a crash early Tuesday at Bushard Street and Slater Avenue in Fountain Valley.
According to the Fountain Valley Police Department deputies and paramedics responded to the intersection around 4:36 a.m. on Nov. 3rd, 2026.
A man driving a Ford Flex and a woman driving a Nissan Kicks with a male passenger were involved. Sadly, the two people from the Nissan both died at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver from the Ford was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities investigating the cause of the crash determined the Nissan was traveling eastbound on Slater Avenue, while the Ford Flex was traveling northbound on Bushard Street. It’s unknown what caused the two vehicles to collide at the intersection, but it’s likely one of the motorists failed to stop for a red light.
Also, detectives did not mention if impairment was a factor for either of the drivers.
Finally, the two people who died have not been identified, pending notification to the next of kin.
Witnesses are asked to contact the Fountain Valley Police Department’s Traffic Bureau at 714-593-4481 and reference case #26-36679.
