Juvenile Driver Causes Double Fatality Crash in Madera

MADERA, Calif. (Oct. 13, 2025) — Two people were killed early Monday morning after an unlicensed 16-year-old driver allegedly ran a stop sign and slammed into another vehicle at Avenue 16 and Road 23, authorities said.

The crash occurred just before 6 a.m. at the intersection of Avenue 16 and Road 23. According to police, the teen was driving eastbound on Avenue 16 without headlights and failed to stop at the intersection before striking a vehicle carrying two adults.

When officers arrived, both victims were trapped in the wreckage. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released.

Investigators say the juvenile driver did not have a valid license. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to have played a role in the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
