Two Killed in Suspected DUI Crash at Big Bear Boulevard in Big Bear Lake

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. (May 8, 2026) — Two women were killed and a third badly injured in a crash Monday on Big Bear Boulevard involving a suspected DUI driver in Big Bear Lake.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the deadly crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. on May 4 on Big Bear Boulevard in Big Bear Lake.
Matthew Clark, 52, of Oxnard, was driving a Ford Super Duty pickup truck southbound on Cienega Road. Police say he drove through a posted stop sign without stopping at Big Bear Boulevard. He reportedly broadsided the passenger side of a westbound Subaru Crosstrek.
The driver of the Crosstrek, Kelly Satterfield, had two passengers with her, including her mother, Kathy Greenwood, in the back seat, and a friend in the front passenger seat.
The woman named Sandy Senft, 64, of Big Bear Lake, died at the scene of the crash. The driver’s mother, who is in her 80s, was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. Kathy Greenwood later died at the hospital. Meanwhile, Kelly Satterfield remains in critical condition at Loma Linda University Medical Center.
The driver of the pickup truck was treated at the hospital for minor injuries and then arrested on DUI charges. He was booked into custody at West Valley Detention Center and held on $250,000 bail.
