Two Killed on I-15 in Deer Springs Wrong-way Driver Crash

Deadly Wrong-way Collision on Interstate 15 Freeway

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. (April 1, 2025) — Two motorists died early Sunday in a wrong-way driver crash on the southbound I-15 Freeway in the Deer Springs area.

Authorities responded to the deadly crash involving two drivers who were found unconscious and trapped in their vehicles around 2:22 a.m. on March 30th, according to the Times of San Diego.

One of the drivers was heading in the wrong direction on the freeway when they collided with a second driver just north of the Deer Springs exit.

Furthermore, several other vehicles ran over debris scattered across traffic lanes of the freeway, the report said.

Paramedics and other first responders extricated both of the drivers from their vehicles, but they did not survive.

Finally, the California Highway Patrol issued a traffic alert and closed down the southbound lanes of the I-15 Freeway, just south of the 76 due to the crash and investigation.
