Two Motorcyclists Injured in Crash on I-405 Freeway, La Cienega Blvd

Motorcycle Riders Crash on Interstate 405 Near La Cienega in HOV Lane
Los Angeles, CA (April 23, 2025) – A traffic collision involving two motorcyclists brought northbound Interstate 405 to a standstill near La Cienega Boulevard Wednesday morning, prompting a 45-minute SigAlert and heavy delays during rush hour.
The crash occurred shortly before 7:46 a.m. in the HOV and #1 lanes, where both riders were reported down on the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Emergency responders from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Freeway Service Patrol arrived quickly on scene.
The CHP issued a SigAlert at 8:13 a.m., shutting down the HOV lane for approximately 45 minutes while authorities tended to the injured motorcyclists and cleared the scene. The extent of the riders’ injuries is not yet known, but both were receiving medical attention.
Inglewood Tow Service was dispatched and had an estimated arrival time of 20 minutes to assist with vehicle removal, according to CHP dispatch logs.
Traffic was significantly impacted in the area, with delays stretching back several miles. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Motorists are advised to exercise caution and consider alternate routes when possible.
