Two Semi-Trucks Crash on State Route 41, Near SR-33 in Avenal

KINGS COUNTY, Calif. (July 10, 2025) — An Avenal crash involving two semi-trucks caused delays early Thursday morning on State Route 41, just south of State Route 33 in rural Kings County. Authorities say the crash resulted in minor injuries.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) first received reports of the incident around 5:15 a.m. on July 10, 2025. According to dispatch logs, the crash involved a white semi-truck with a box trailer and a gray semi-truck hauling an empty trailer. Both vehicles ended up on the right-hand side of the road, with at least one reportedly off the roadway. Debris was also reported scattered across the scene.
Emergency medical services were dispatched with code 2 response (non-life-threatening), while Kings County Fire Department was notified but did not respond after being advised EMS was already en route.
By 5:39 a.m., the incident classification was updated from a possible major injury crash to a minor injury collision. Tow services were requested for heavy-duty recovery of a 25,000-pound truck and trailer. Eppler’s Towing was notified and dispatched to the scene.
There is no word yet on the cause of the crash on Highway 41, and it remains under investigation by the CHP.
Motorists traveling through the area experienced brief delays but no full closure of the highway was reported. All involved vehicles were moved to the shoulder to allow traffic to pass.
