Extraction Needed in Collision on Highway 299
BLUE LAKE, Calif. (August 16, 2024) — A two-vehicle car accident occurred Thursday afternoon in Blue Lake, California on Trinity Highway 299 in Humboldt County.
The traffic accident occurred at around 2:09 PM on Thursday, August 15th, 2024, just east of Blue Lake Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A blue or silver Ford Excursion reportedly rear-ended a white Subaru SUV and became traffic hazards on Highway 299.
One of the vehicles was in the middle of the highway and passengers were unable to exit the vehicle. An extraction was needed to remove the party that was in the vehicle. The Ford Excursion had major front end and rear end damage. The Subaru had major rear-end damage from the crash. Tow trucks were needed on the scene to remove the damaged vehicles from Highway 299.
Paramedics responded and located those with injuries and transported them to a nearby hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
Investigators are working to determine who is at fault for the accident in Blue Lake California on Highway 299.
