Two-Vehicle Crash 57 Freeway, Chapman Avenue in Orange County

Orange County, CA (June 17, 2025) — A two-vehicle crash on the Orange 57 Freeway occurred Tuesday morning at the Chapman Avenue on ramp, prompting an emergency response and temporary lane closures.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash happened around 10:00 a.m. near the onramp to SR-57 South. The vehicles involved were a black Lexus RX350 SUV and a gray Scion, with one vehicle reportedly veering off the left shoulder and the SUV blocking the on ramp lanes.
CHP dispatch logs stated at least one person was injured in the collision, prompting a response from MetroNet Fire Authority. Also, police requested Freeway Service Patrol (FSP) and two tow companies, CA Roadside and Archie’s Tow, to assist with clearing the vehicles.
At least one of the vehicles required rotation service, and responders worked to remove both the Lexus and Scion from the roadway. The incident temporarily blocked lanes and created traffic delays in the area.
By 10:13 a.m., CHP confirmed the incident had been cleared and the lanes reopened. No further information has been released regarding the cause of the crash or the condition of the individuals involved.
Motorists are reminded to use caution when merging onto highways and to remain alert to avoid collisions at freeway access points.
