Investigation Underway into Crash on 405 Freeway in Seal Beach

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (April 24, 2025) — One person was injured Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash on the northbound I-405 Freeway at Seal Beach Boulevard in the Seal Beach area of Orange County.

The minor-injury collision occurred around 7:16 a.m. on April 24th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A witness told CHP dispatchers a driver in a silver Volvo XC 90 was allegedly tailgating and making unsafe lane changes prior to colliding with a white Kia Niro.

Both vehicles pulled over to the center divider, and paramedics responded to help a male driver or passenger in the Kia who “keeps losing consciousness,” the report said.

It’s unknown if anyone was taken to a hospital following the collision.

Investigators are working on the case to determine fault and at least one vehicle required a tow truck.
