Minor Injury Crash Slows Traffic on I-805 Near 43rd Street Off-Ramp
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (May 30, 2025) — A two-vehicle crash caused minor injuries and brief traffic delays late Thursday morning on northbound Interstate 805 Freeway near the 43rd Street off-ramp in National City, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred around 11:20 a.m. on May 30th and involved a white Nissan coupe and a blue sedan pulling a trailer. CHP initially responded to reports of a disabled vehicle in the slow lane with its hazard lights activated.
Shortly after, the situation was updated to a traffic collision with minor injuries. Witnesses reported both vehicles were in the gore point area near the off-ramp, with one driver reportedly using a cell phone at the time of the incident.
Although no significant damage was immediately visible, one or more occupants sustained minor injuries. The involved vehicles were determined to be drivable, and no tows were required.
Freeway Service Patrol assisted at the scene, and the incident was cleared by 11:26 a.m. All lanes have since reopened, and traffic has returned to normal.
CHP continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash. No citations or arrests have been reported at this time.
