Two-Vehicle Crash Involving CHP Patrol SUV in Van Nuys

Two Injured in Collision at Tyrone Avenue and Oxnard Street
VAN NUYS, Calif. (August 24, 2026) – A CHP patrol SUV and a red Honda sedan were in a crash early Monday at Tyrone Avenue and Oxnard Street in Van Nuys.
According to the California Highway Patrol the SUV and the Honda Accord collided around 2:57 a.m. at the Van Nuys intersection, sending the SUV crashing into a building and both drivers to the hospital. The man from the Honda and the patrol officer both had complaints of pain.
Police are investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash to determine fault.
Tow trucks removed the vehicles from the roadway. The SUV had damage to the right front and left side doors and the Honda had major front-end damage, the report said.
Witnesses are asked to contact the CHP.
