Two-Vehicle Crash on I-80 Freeway, Greenback Lane in Foothill Farms

One Person Hospitalized After Two-Vehicle Crash on Westbound Interstate 80

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Aug. 5, 2026

A two-vehicle collision happened Wednesday morning on the Interstate 80 Freeway, just east of Greenback Lane in the Foothill Farms area of Sacramento County. One person was transported to the hospital, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported on August 5th at approximately 6:58 a.m. and involved a silver Volkswagen Passat and a black vehicle. Both vehicles came to rest on the right shoulder of the freeway.

CHP officers responded to the scene along with fire personnel. By about 7:10 a.m., authorities had moved all vehicles to the right shoulder, clearing the travel lanes and minimizing traffic disruptions.

One person was transported to a hospital with minor injuries. A tow truck was requested for the Volkswagen Passat, which was taken to a designated drop-off location after the crash.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation, and no additional information about those involved was immediately available.
