Major Injury Crash on State Route 51 at T Street
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Oct. 13, 2022) — A two-vehicle car accident happened Thursday morning on State Route Highway 51 (Elvas Freeway) at T Street.
The Sacramento collision occurred in the northbound slow lanes about 9:48 a.m. on Oct. 13th, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The drivers of a white Toyota Corolla and a black Acura sedan are involved. One of the vehicles reportedly crashed into an attenuator at the T Street off ramp and there was a chunk of concreate about three feet long, one foot wide and six inches deep in the No. 3 lane, the CHP report said. Caltrans was called to remove it from the roadway.
Paramedics responded to help those hurt in the crash including at least one person with major injuries. The CHP dispatch mentioned one person was conscious and not responding.
Meanwhile, tow trucks removed at least one of the damaged vehicles from the freeway.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
