Tyrone Burton, 39, Killed Monterey County Crash on Reservation Road
MONTEREY COUNTY (April 14, 2019) – A driver was killed after a traffic collision along Reservation Road Tuesday afternoon, April 9.
Monterey County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as 39-year-old Tyrone Burton, of Salinas.
California Highway Patrol said the incident began when Burton was driving a 2005 Pontiac Grand-Am east in the fast lane on Reservation Road.
Morgan Boutonnet, 25, Injured in Reservation Road Crash
Burton, approaching Inter-Garrison Road, started to slow down for a turn. A 2005 Chevrolet Silverado traveling behind him then struck the rear of his car.
According to reports by Monterey Herald News and The Californian, Burton was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident took place at about 3:50 p.m., east of Blanco Road.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the operator of the Silverado, 25-year-old Salinas resident Morgan Taylor Boutonnet, was transported to Natividad Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
