
OAKLAND, Calif. (Feb. 22, 2023) — Tzu-Ta Ko, 100, of Oakland, was struck and killed Sunday in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident at 19th Street and Harrison Street.
The deadly crash occurred about 7 a.m. at the Oakland intersection, according to the Oakland Police Department and East Bay Times.
Oakland police are now searching for the suspect in a white Mini Cooper after reviewing surveillance camera footage from the scene.
The motorist reportedly fled in the Mini Cooper without stopping to help the elderly man.
Upon arrival at the scene, Oakland police officers located Tzu-Ta Ko suffering from severe head trauma and were unable to save his life.
Meanwhile, authorities are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of a suspect in the case.
