Two women were passengers inside the man’s Uber vehicle which was a green Toyota Prius as the vehicle veered off the road and struck a male pedestrian as well as two other vehicles.
The unidentified male pedestrian was seriously injured and rushed to a trauma center for his injuries. His condition has not been updated at this time.
Both women who were the Uber driver’s passengers were injured to a moderate degree and remained hospitalized as of Thursday afternoon.
During the course of the collision, the Uber driver took out a parking meter as he gave a statement claiming he mistook the brake for the gas pedal.
Per KTLA 5 News, the Uber driver was taking his two passengers from UCLA to the Griffith Observatory prior to the incident taking place.
