UKIAH, California (August 14, 2016) – Marketa O’ Connor, 25, of Florida, has been identified as the victim fatally injured in a tragic head-on collision on Sunday, August 14th.
An accident report read that an 84-year-old man identified as Paul Vicente, of Oakland, had been traveling along southbound in his Mercedes on Highway 101 with his headlights off.
Vicente attempted to pass a semi-truck up ahead and crossed into northbound lanes before colliding head-on with a black BMW driven by Marketa O’ Connor.
The collision tragically caused fatal injuries to the 25-year-old woman as she was sadly declared dead at the scene.
Her two passengers who were not identified by name included a 28-year-old man and a 5-year-old minor. The man was flown to a trauma center while the minor was taken by ambulance.
Paul Vicente was also pronounced deceased at the scene.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation as neither drugs nor alcohol seem to have played a role.
