Fatal Hit-and-run Crash Suspect Arrested for Death of Steven Owen Jarrell
COLTON, California (Sept. 27, 2017) — Ulysses Carbajal Carranza, 18, of Moreno Valley was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run charges after leaving the scene of a fatal collision with a motorcycle.
The teenager’s vehicle collided with the motorcycle about 5:06 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22 on Reche Canyon at Scotch Lane.
The victim who was riding the motorcycle has been identified as Steven Owen Jarrell, 59, of Perris. He was taken by ambulance to Loma Linda University Medical Center where he later died of his injuries.
The Colton Police Department stated they arrested Carranza at his Moreno Valley home.
The suspect is being held at the San Bernardino County Jail with his bail set at $100,000.
