Union City Crash Interstate 880 Freeway, Alvarado Niles Road

Multi-Vehicle, Rollover Crash on I-880 Freeway in Union City

UNION CITY, Calif. (Dec. 2, 2021) — A multi-vehicle Union City crash happened on the Interstate 880 Freeway Thursday morning, just south of Alvarado Niles Road.

The traffic accident took place in the northbound lanes about 6:32 a.m. on Dec. 2nd, according to the California Highway Patrol. Police issued a SigAlert due to multiple blocked lanes and traffic.

CHP officials report a gray Toyota Camry reportedly veered to the left, overcorrected and then collided with a white Ford F-150 pickup truck. The Toyota overturned onto its roof in the Nos. 2 and 3 lanes. The Ford F-150 pickup truck also collided with a third vehicle. Paramedics responded and transported at least two people to a hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Tow trucks removed the overturned Toyota sedan and the pickup truck which suffered moderate damage in the Union City 880 Freeway collision.
