Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-880 at Whipple Road Sunday

Union City, CA (September 22, 2020) – A suspected hit-and-run collision occurred on Interstate 880, also known as Nimitz Freeway, early Sunday.

The California Highway Patrol reported an accident occurred in the southbound side of I-880 at Whipple Road offramp. Officials said the collision involved as many as four automobiles. Per CHP log, a white sedan, and a silver Dodge Avenger were both found at the site.

At Least 1 Injured in Union City Car Accident, September 20

Shortly after 1:10 a.m., emergency teams arrived at the location and found four people wandering the area. Authorities later confirmed at least one person suffered an injury as a result of the mishap.

Meanwhile, the CHP changed the case from car accident to hit-and-run car crash in Union City. Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
