Semi-truck, Pickup Collide on Interstate 5 Near Pyramid Lake
LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. (Dec. 7, 2021) – A UPS truck and a pickup collided Tuesday morning on the Interstate 5 Freeway near Pyramid Lake in Lebec.
The two-vehicle crash happened about 2:58 a.m., just south of Vista Del Lago Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A white Ford F-350 pickup truck reportedly collided with the UPS semi-truck due to unknown circumstances. The vehicles collided in the slow lanes and were blocking the freeway.
1 Hospitalized after Lebec Crash on I-5 Freeway
Paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to treat and transport David Darby to a hospital for unknown injuries. He was an occupant of the pickup truck, but there are no further details. It’s unknown if the UPS truck driver suffered injuries in the Lebec crash at this time.
Furthermore, the circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation.
Investigators with CHP continue to work on the case.
