Bicycle Rider Ethan Boyes Killed in Presidio Crash on Arguello Boulevard
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (April 6, 2023) – USA Cycling Champion Ethan Boyes was killed after a bicycle crash on Arguello Boulevard in the Presidio.
The U.S. Park Police identified the USA Cycling Masters Track National Champion as the victim in the fatal accident which took place on Tuesday.
The incident happened when Ethan Boyes was riding a bicycle on Arguello Boulevard in the Presidio area of San Francisco. For an unknown reason, a car struck him south of Washington Boulevard.
The San Francisco Standard and KRON 4 News wrote that the collision occurred on April 4 at around 4 p.m. The two collided near the Presidio Golf Course and the Presidio Loop trailhead.
Bicyclist Hit by Car
Ethan Boyes, of San Francisco, sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the bicycle accident. Paramedics rushed him to a hospital, where he soon died.
Officers added that the driver of the car ended up hurt following the incident. Medical personnel transported the patient for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Meanwhile, a witness said that a speeding car going north on Arguello careened into the opposite lane and hit a bicyclist. The rider slammed headfirst into the windshield.
Police forced a stretch of Arguello Boulevard to shut down for hours following the wreck. The cause of the Presidio crash is still under investigation.
