Woman Struck, Killed on I-80 Freeway
VACAVILLE, Calif. (April 4, 2023) — A semi-truck struck and killed a woman Tuesday morning in a pedestrian accident on the Interstate 80 Freeway and Davis Street in Vacaville.
The fatal collision occurred around 4:53 a.m. in the westbound Nos. 3 and 4 lanes of the I-80, according to the California Highway Patrol. Authorities say the woman was attempting to run across the freeway when she was hit by the white Freightliner semi-truck.
Several other vehicles may have hit the woman after the initial collision. Some of vehicles including a white Toyota pickup truck stopped and cooperated with the Vacaville Police Department’s investigation, but not all of them.
Meanwhile, police closed down the westbound lanes of the freeway to investigate and clear the roadway.
Police did not release the woman’s name or age.
The Vacaville pedestrian accident remains under investigation.
