Pickup Truck Overturns in Vacaville Crash
VACAVILLE, California (September 21, 2016) — At least one person has died in a fiery rollover crash at North Meridian and Elizabeth roads, according to the California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash took place about 4:27 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon near a small group of homes. The driver of a black pickup truck overturned on the right shoulder and parties inside the vehicle were trapped as it caught on fire. The Vacaville Fire Department responded to the scene to put out the fire and extricate those inside the vehicle. By 453 p.m. there was at least one confirmed death at the scene of the crash. The report does not indicate how many people were in the pickup truck.
Police are investigating the crash to determine liability. It doesn’t appear there were other vehicles involved, but there should be an investigation to rule out a mechanical defect or a dangerous road condition.
