Caltrans Worker Struck, Killed on the Interstate 80 Freeway in Vacaville
VACAVILLE, Calif. (June 3, 2022) — A Caltrans worker died in a Vacaville pedestrian accident Friday morning on the westbound Interstate 80 Freeway.
UPDATE: Quanda McGadney, 51, was later identified as the Caltrans landscaper killed in today’s crash.
The collision occurred about 10 a.m. on June 3rd, near the Cherry Glen Road on ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The motorist involved reportedly fled the scene without stopping.
Witnesses told the CHP dispatch operator the vehicle may have been an older-model Porsche Cayenne with wider tires that was seen passing vehicles on the right side. The vehicle had a California license plate that was hanging crooked on the vehicle.
Another witness told authorities they saw a white Mazda with windshield damage in the area that was in the 3700 block of Hillborn Road.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the crash.
