Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Pleasants Valley Road, Solano County
SOLANO COUNTY, Calif., (August 3, 2026) — A fatal pedestrian accident occurred Monday night on Pleasants Valley Road at Sunny Hills Lane in Vacaville.
The incident, reported on August 3rd at approximately 8:40 p.m., involved a white Mitsubishi Outlander that struck a pedestrian who was reportedly standing in the lane. The area was noted to have inadequate lighting, which may have contributed to the visibility issues. According to the CHP incident log, the pedestrian was hit while walking back towards their vehicle, which was parked on the opposite side of the road. The force of the impact caused the pedestrian to be thrown to the side of the road.
Meanwhile, emergency responders arrived on the scene at 8:49 p.m. and immediately began performing CPR. Despite their efforts, the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The California Highway Patrol issued a SIG Alert, closing both lanes of Pleasants Valley Road for an extensive accident investigation. Authorities have not determined the estimated time of reopening the lanes.
Finally, the Solano County Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this fatal accident. They urge any witnesses or individuals with information to come forward as they seek to understand the events leading up to the tragedy.
