The incident took place at around 6:00 a.m. as McKinney was within the means of a crosswalk before being struck by a minivan.
The impact threw McKinney 50 feet from where she was initially hit leaving her with grave injuries.
She was flown to a trauma center and has tragically since been declared brain dead and remains on life support, the article added.
Friends and family of McKinney who has three young children have created a GoFundMe account where donations can be made at https://www.gofundme.com/medicalfuneral-exspenses.
The article did not indicate whether or not the driver of the minivan had been arrested or if he was to face criminal charges.
We offer our warmest of thoughts, our prayers, and condolences to the family members of Ms. McKinney as they search for peace and comfort.
