1 Seriously Injured in Car Crash Near Valley Center Road and Lilac Road
VALLEY CENTER, CA (May 8, 2021) – A DUI crash seriously injured at least one person near Valley Center Road and Lilac Road in Valley Center.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 1:17 p.m.
CHP said a silver truck hit the curb, overcorrected and hit a white sedan. The truck then slammed into a fire hydrant near the intersection of Valley Center Road and Lilac Road.
DUI Factor in Car Collision Saturday
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near the Valley Center Parks. They found one individual who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Palomar Medical Center Poway for treatment. The name of the wounded party and their condition at this time were not released.
Meanwhile, CHP determined that a driver involved was under the influence when the incident took place. Officials forced northbound Valley Center Road at Lilac to shut down following the wreck.
Authorities are still investigating the crash.
