Passenger Seriously Injured in Van Nuys Car Accident on Sepulveda Boulevard
LOS ANGELES (February 21, 2019) – A passenger was left trapped in the wreckage and seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash on Sepulveda Boulevard Wednesday night, according to Los Angeles Fire Department.
The accident was reported at approximately 9 p.m. at 8045 North Sepulveda Boulevard.
Los Angeles Fire Department officials said the male victim was still in the heavily-damaged vehicle with his leg impaled by a metal rod following the collision.
Driver Flees Scene After Van Nuys Crash on Sepulveda
Authorities quickly called for LAFD Firefighters and the paramedics who provided immediate medical care while strategically deconstructing the car to free the man.
The patient was taken to an area trauma center where he was listed in serious conditions. His name was not available.
The driver of the vehicle involved fled the scene after allowing their car to slam into a light pole on Sepulveda. Police are still investigating the cause of the incident.
