Van Nuys hit-and-run Balboa Sherman
4 Injured in Van Nuys Hit-and-Run at Balboa Boulevard and Sherman Way
LOS ANGELES, CA (December 14, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash injured several people at Balboa Boulevard and Sherman Way in Van Nuys.
According to the KTLA News and My News LA, the accident took place on Monday night. Officers reported the wreck on December 13 at about 9:45 p.m.
The incident began when a 2014 Hyundai SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed east on Sherman Way, approaching Balboa Boulevard, in Van Nuys.
At the same time, a Honda CRV was going south on Balboa. The Hyundai then ran a red light at the intersection and slammed into the Honda CRV.
In the process, two more vehicles became involved. Los Angeles police said the silver Toyota Tundra and the yellow Honda Fit were stopped on eastbound Sherman at Balboa when they were hit in the Van Nuys neighborhood.
Speeding Driver Runs Red Light, Hits Cars
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found a total of four victims who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed the two occupants of the CRV to a local hospital and listed them in serious condition. They treated the motorists in the Tundra and Fit at the site for their minor injuries.
The reports did not disclose the names of the wounded parties. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the speeding driver abandoned her car and fled on foot west on Sherman.
Officers forced the area of Balboa Boulevard and Sherman Way to shut down for hours following the wreck. The Van Nuys hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
