8 Injured in Car vs Pedestrian Crash on Van Nuys Boulevard
LOS ANGELES, CA (June 21, 2021) – A car crash left several people injured on Van Nuys Boulevard in the Van Nuys neighborhood.
According to the CBS Los Angeles and FOX 11 News, the accident took place on Monday night. Officers reported the wreck at about 8:20 p.m.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said four vehicles, two of which were parked cars, collided for an unknown reason. One of them then struck a pedestrian in the 7400 block of Van Nuys Boulevard.
Multiple Vehicles Collide in Van Nuys
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and extricated the trapped occupants from the wreckage. A total of eight people, including the pedestrian, ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon took six adult patients to local hospitals for treatment. They listed five of them in moderate condition and one in fair condition.
The other two wounded parties declined transport. Officials did not disclose the names of the victims. Meanwhile, officers forced a portion of the road to shut down for a time following the wreck.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the Van Nuys crash.
