Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash at Venice Boulevard and Brenta Place
LOS ANGELES, CA (January 25, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed after a hit-and-run crash at Venice Boulevard and Brenta Place in the Venice neighborhood.
According to the KTLA News and My News LA, the tragic accident took place last week on Friday. Officers reported the collision on January 21 at about 12:20 a.m.
The incident happened when a male pedestrian was standing between the 1 and 2 lanes on the westbound side of Venice Boulevard at Brenta Place.
At the same time, a tan 2000-10 sedan was going west. Los Angeles police said for an unknown reason, the driver of the car then struck the man.
The impact forced the victim to travel into the No. 2 lane. In the process, the motorist in a light-colored 2012 Range Rover ran over him.
Pedestrian Hit by Cars
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and soon found the man left lying on the ground. They soon pronounced him dead at the scene.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, police affirmed that both drivers did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled westbound.
They described the suspect in the Range Rover as a man, about 20 years old and has dark blond hair. He is about 5 feet 4 to 5 feet 10 inches tall and has a thin build.
Officers forced the area of Venice Boulevard and Brenta Place to shut down following the hit-and-run crash. The cause of the fatal collision is still under investigation.
