Ventura Car Crash Highway 101 and Victoria Avenue June 20

2 Injured in Ventura Crash on Southbound Highway 101 Near Victoria Avenue

VENTURA, CA (June 20, 2021) – Two were hospitalized after a car crash on Highway 101 at Victoria Avenue in Ventura.

According to The Ventura County Star and KEYT News, the accident took place on Sunday morning. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 8:15 a.m.

The incident occurred in the backup from an earlier fatal collision in Ventura. It began when a Nissan Armada SUV slowed down for the road closure on southbound Highway 101 at Victoria Avenue.

The California Highway Patrol said for an unknown reason, a white older-model Toyota van struck the rear of the Nissan. The Armada then rolled over upon impact and came to a rest on its roof.

2 Vehicles Collide in Backup From Fatal Crash

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and extricated the man driving the van from the wreckage. He sustained major injuries as a result of the crash.

The woman driving the SUV ended up with moderate injuries following the wreck. Medical personnel took both patients to the Ventura County Medical Center for treatment.

Officials did not disclose their names and condition at this time. CHP added that the two vehicles involved obtained major damage following the accident.

Meanwhile, officers forced the southbound lanes of Highway 101 at Victoria to close for more than one hour after the collision. The Ventura crash is still under investigation.
