1 Seriously Injured in Ventura County Crash on Highway 101 at Seacliff
VENTURA COUNTY, CA (July 22, 2021) – A crash seriously injured at least one person on Highway 101 at Seacliff near Ventura.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the wreck occurred on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the accident at about 3:33 p.m.
According to CHP, two vehicles collided for an unknown reason near the city of Ventura. They crashed on southbound Highway 101 at the Seacliff off-ramp.
The incident log described the cars as a white Chevrolet Tahoe and a gold Toyota Tundra. The Chevrolet went 40 feet off the road while the Toyota obtained moderate front-end damage upon impact.
2 Cars Collide Near Ventura
One of the vehicles involved ended up pinned between the other car and a fence nearby. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
They found one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment.
Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound lanes of Highway 101 at Seacliff to shut down following the wreck.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the Ventura County crash.
