Man, 68, Killed in Ventura Hit-and-Run Crash on Harbor Boulevard
VENTURA, CA (January 7, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian on Harbor Boulevard in Ventura.
According to the Ventura County Star and KVTA News, the tragic accident took place on Friday morning. Officers reported the collision at around 5:05 a.m.
Ventura police said a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason on Harbor Boulevard. The driver hit him between Sanjon Road and Vista Del Mar.
Driver Hits Pedestrian, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found the 68-year-old man lying unresponsive in the eastbound lane of Harbor. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the man and fled the area. Officers forced a stretch of Harbor Boulevard to shut down following the incident.
The cause of the fatal Ventura hit-and-run crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at 805-477- 3767.
