1 Seriously Injured in Vernalis Crash at Gaffery and McCracken Roads
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA (February 26, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash at Gaffery and McCracken roads in Vernalis.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident occurred on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 1:42 p.m.
Their report said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason. They crashed at the intersection of Gaffery and McCracken roads in the Vernalis community.
Car Collision Near Highway 33 Friday
CHP described the cars as a Honda Civic and a Chevrolet full-size pickup truck. The Honda sustained major driver side damage while the Chevrolet ended up with major front-end damage upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene near Highway 33. They found one person who suffered major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the wounded party to the hospital for treatment. Officials did not release the name of the patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, officials closed the intersection following the Vernalis crash. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the wreck.
