Fatal Collision in I-5 Freeway in Vernalis
VERNALIS, Calif. (March 3, 2021) — A Vernalis fatal crash happened Wednesday on the Interstate 5 Freeway.
The drivers of a silver Toyota Camry and a white box truck collided about 1:09 p.m. on March 3rd, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The vehicles blocked the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes of the freeway near the Howard Road off ramp.
One person was critically injured, but before they could be taken to a hospital they died on scene, the report said.
Furthermore, the Stanislaus County Sheriff Coroner responded to the Vernalis fatal crash scene. The person or persons who died will be identified after their family is notified. It’s unknown how many got hurt in the Vernalis crash.
Meanwhile, The CHP is heading up an investigation into liability for the collision. Police are seeking to find out if alcohol and or drugs were a factor in the collision, however, it’s still unknown.
