Homeless Woman Riding Scooter Killed in Cypress Park Crash
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (January 4, 2021) – Vianey Herrera, 26, was hit by two vehicles while crossing a street on a scooter at Future Street and San Fernando Road in the Cypress Park area.
The fatal pedestrian accident was reported about 10:42 p.m. on Saturday, January 2nd, according to an article published by My News LA.
Two vehicles struck the homeless woman as she was crossing in a marked crosswalk. She was at the intersection of Future Street and San Fernando Road.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the crash scene where they located the injured woman on the ground suffering major injuries.
Vianey Herrera ID’d as Pedestrian Killed
She was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after emergency personnel arrived. Her name was later released by the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner.
Meanwhile, police stated in a report that both drivers stopped after hitting the victim. They cooperated with authorities in the fatal crash investigation. Police did not mention what types of vehicles were involved or if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. Additionally, witnesses are urged to contact police to help them piece together what happened and determine fault for the collision.
