Victims Killed in Wrightwood Crash on Highway 2 are Identified

WRIGHTWOOD, Calif. (Sept. 5, 2026) – Jason Potter, 19, Nevaeh Harper, 20, and Rebekah Cabral-Gonzalez, 21, have been identified as three of four people who died early Friday in a Wrightwood crash after they were thrown out of a car in a rollover crash on Angeles Crest Highway (State Route 2). The fourth person’s name has not been released yet.
There were only two survivors from the 1:34 a.m. crash on Sept. 4th, 2026, near Flume Canyon Drive. The area is located near the border of Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The San Bernardino County Fire Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to help those involved.
Fatal Car Accident in Wrightwood
The four who died were all ejected from a black 2016 Hyundai Veloster occupied by six people from the Wrightwood area. They were all pronounced dead at the scene. One of the two survivors was wearing a seat belt, and the other was among those ejected. Both were transported by air ambulance to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton in critical condition.
Investigators working on the case believe the vehicle struck a traffic pole and sheared it in half. The car then rolled off a cliff or embankment into a grassy meadow. Three other vehicles, including a white Scion XB, a silver Toyota Camry, and a white Jeep Wrangler, all stopped on the shoulder following the crash. It’s unknown at this time if any of those motorists witnessed the collision.
A woman who called 911 to report the crash stated her daughter was not in the vehicle that crashed, but that she was caravanning with the involved parties.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but detectives working on the case believe that alcohol was possibly a contributing factor in the crash, a CHP spokesperson said.
Anyone who witnessed the deadly crash should contact the California Highway Patrol.
