1 Killed, 1 Injured in Car Crash Near Chard Avenue Friday
Gerber, CA (January 25, 2022) – Victor Baus, an 81-year-old man, suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on Highway 99W in Gerber.
According to the Record Bee News, Baus was behind the wheel of a 2003 Toyota Tacoma heading north on Highway 99W. Preliminary investigation revealed the driver was preparing to make a left turn into a private driveway near Chard Avenue. In the process, an oncoming 1995 Honda crashed for an unknown reason into the Toyota.
The force from the impact resulted in significant damage to both cars involved in the wreck.
Shortly after 10:15 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. First responders found Victor Baus with minor injuries. Paramedics transported the patient to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff for further treatment and evaluation.
Authorities mentioned the driver of the Honda sadly died as a result of the wreck. Personal information on the deceased have not been discussed thus far.
At this time, investigators continue to work to determine several unclear factors surrounding the car accident on Highwya 99W in Gerber.
