Chicago Teen Killed in Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident on Midway Drive
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (January 7, 2019) – Victor Molinar, 18, of Oak Park, was identified as the pedestrian killed on Saturday in a hit-and-run crash on Midway Drive, according to the San Diego police department.
The Chicago-area Marine Saturday evening following the 7 p.m. collision near Rosecrans Street in the Midway District, according to the San Diego police.
The teenager was out with a group of friends, but at some point they became separated. His friends later found him in the roadway next to debris left behind by the vehicle that had struck him. The suspect driving the vehicle fled the scene. Police believe it was a gold SUV with front-end damage.
Sadly, Molinar was pronounced dead at the scene.
Molinar was recruit who had enlisted in the Marines, but not yet gone through basic training, according to NBC San Diego.
