The bicycle reportedly became lodged underneath the Toyta and was dragged until the vehicle stopped in the turning lane. The rider was found lying in the traffic lanes of the Amargosa Road.
Officers affirmed that the cyclist was taken by ground ambulance to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries including severe road rash. Her name and condition at this time remained unknown.
Meanwhile, the female driver of the Toyota stopped and cooperated with the authorities. The northbound lanes of Amargosa Road were closed for about half-hour following the crash.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation.

In this case, there are several questions that need to be resolved in order to determine the liability in the crash. Was the driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs a factor? Did excessive speed or distracted driving play a role? Who had the right of way? Did the bus driver involved show recklessness or negligence at some point?
Once the investigation process is over and it concludes that a party has been negligent and caused the injuries of the bicyclist, the family of the teen bicyclist may have the right to pursue a claim seeking a compensation for all the hospital bills, future medical needs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
