Man Killed in Victorville Crash on 15 Freeway Near Palmdale Road
VICTORVILLE, CA (February 6, 2023) – A crash killed a man on the 15 Freeway near Palmdale Road in Victorville.
According to an article published by the Victor Valley News, the tragic accident took place on Monday evening. Officers reported the collision on February 6 at around 7:15 p.m.
The incident happened when a man was outside of a white truck on the northbound 15 Freeway, just north of the Palmdale Road offramp in Victorville.
Drunk Driver Hits Victim Changing Tire
He was changing a tire of the vehicle under the overpass while a black 2017 Chevrolet Cruze approached the area. The California Highway Patrol said in the process, the Chevrolet struck the pedestrian.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP determined that the woman driving the Cruze was under the influence of alcohol when she hit the man. They soon arrested her on suspicion of DUI.
Officers forced the northbound lanes of the 15 Freeway to shut down for a time near Palmdale following the incident. The fatal Victorville crash is still under investigation.
