Bicyclist, 15, Killed in Victorville Hit-and-Run at Fifth Street and C Street
VICTORVILLE, CA (December 6, 2021) – A teenage bicyclist was killed after a hit-and-run crash at Fifth Street and C Street in Victorville.
According to an article published by the Victor Valley News, the tragic accident took place on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the collision at about 2:01 p.m.
The incident began when a 15-year-old boy was riding a bicycle west across C Street, approaching Fifth Street, in Victorville. At the same time, a vehicle was going south on Fifth Street.
Driver Hits Teen, Flees Scene
Deputies said for an unknown reason, the driver struck the Victorville teen. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the victim left lying on the ground.
He sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then rushed the cyclist to a local hospital, where he died.
Meanwhile, officers affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the boy and fled the area. They located and arrested him for suspicion of DUI, hit-and-run and gross vehicular manslaughter.
Officials shut down north and southbound Fifth Street and east and westbound C Street for several hours following the incident. The fatal Victorville hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
